Schwarzes Café: “We might not recover.”

One of Berlin’s favouries cafes is in crisis. Open since 1978, the 24-hour Schwarzes Café on Kantstraße is the night-life hub in Charlottenburg. But, like many similar businesses, the pandemic has affected it severely. They are now calling for help with a crowdfunding campaign on Startnext, aiming to raise over €400,000 to stay in business.

Cinemas are in crisis, but who gets the cash? [Deutsche Übersetzung]

Es gibt einen neuen EU-Fond in Höhe von 1,5 Millionen Euro für die Innovation und Entwicklung des europäischen Kinos. Deutschlands fragwürdiger Kandidat für die Förderung zeigt, dass die Förderung einmal mehr daran scheitert den Kreativen des Landes eine gerechte Unterstützung zu gewähren.

Germany's Greens Have Transformed in the Face of Russia's War

The Greens have long been regarded as peace-loving idealists. They are now among the loudest voices calling for heavy weapons to be delivered to Ukraine and have placed considerable pressure on German Chancellor Olaf Scholz to do so. The pacifists of yore have gone quiet and now the talk is of tanks and howitzers.

This project, completed for the SciencesPo Journalism School, uses the study 'Banking on Climate Chaos'. This study showed that the world's biggest banks are heavily funding fossil fuel companies. From there we contextualised and visualised the findings of the study. We reached out to the NGO behind the study for comment as well as to the banks. Citi Bank got back to us for comment. I took over the role of narrating in front of the camera. The idea, edit, script and animations were done in collaboration with my colleague Lola Lopez Lungo.

I am currently a journalism student at Sciences Po Paris, where I am getting practical journalism training across all formats, including print, video, TV, podcasting, and social media.

Additionally, I study Human Rights at the Sciences Po School of International Affairs, where I chose to focus on European international affairs. These specializations reflect the topics I am most eager to report on.
